A specialist and focused search for a man missing for more than two months has proved unsuccessful.

Jim Harper, also known as Gene, was last seen at the Roys of Dereham department store in Yaxham Road at 11.47am on September 17.

CCTV captured the 55-year-old buying a tarpaulin and items that could be used to build a shelter.

"Jim may have purchased tarpaulin to provide a shelter so he could be in woodland or sleeping rough or possibly staying with a friend.”

Officers are also following up on any local sightings reported to the police and people in the area are urged to check any outbuildings or sheds.
