A Grade II Listed home with a café business in the heart of Castle Acre is up for sale at £795,000 with selling agent Sowerbys.

Owners, Andrew Talbot and Simon Kerr, started their journey in London, with Andrew working in public health and Simon in luxury hospitality.

After craving a change in lifestyle, pace and purpose, the pair bought a holiday home in Cornwall, where they owned and operated a café. After selling that, Andrew and Simon made the move to Norfolk and bought Wittles Castle Acre, which comprises a cafe, a retail unit that is currently sub-let as a florist, and a three-bedroom first-floor apartment.

They bought the property during the pandemic, and to introduce themselves to the community, they set up a table in the café doorway with baked goods and soup, and invited the neighbours to introduce themselves.

“The work-life balance here is perfect,” Andrew said. “We do as much as we want, and the business provides a healthy income. For us, it's the ideal lifestyle — one that anyone could easily step into."

Wittles is a readymade business, with a fully operational café, a loyal local customer base, as well as many tourists and leisure visitors.

The home offers countless opportunities and is a “wonderful turnkey experience”, said Simon.

Andrew and Simon are now ready to hand the keys over to the next owners. “Castle Acre and Wittles have given us everything we hoped for — a thriving business, a beautiful home and a sense of peace and belonging that we never found in the city,” said Andrew.
