Police have appealed for help from the public after being unable to identify a woman who died after being hit by a van on the A47.
The incident happened at around 9.55pm on Sunday at the end of the westbound slipway from Saddlebow.
The woman, a pedestrian, was struck by a white Renault Trucks Master van.
She was pronounced dead at the scene and police are investigating the crash.
However, they have been unable to establish her identity and have appealed for help from the public.
She is described as being white, of a slim build and around 5ft 5in tall with shoulder-length auburn hair, some of which was dyed purple.
She was wearing light blue denim jeans with a dark blue hooded, a zip-up top and a ‘Primark’ green wax style coat with a fur hood, with black and purple steel toe capped ‘Maxsteel’ trainers.
She was also wearing a silver crucifixion style necklace and plain gold ring.
She is described as having a large red coloured chilli pepper tattoo on her right ankle.
Detective Inspector Dave McCormack said: “To date, our enquiries have not been able to identify the pedestrian.
“We need to let this woman’s family know what has happened and I would urge anyone with any information to contact us.”
The road remained closed for several hours after the crash, only opening at 2.20am.
Officers would like to speak to anyone who may be able to identify the woman, or who may have witnessed the collision or have any relevant dashcam footage.
