Proposals for a new takeaway have mysteriously been withdrawn mere days before the council's decision was due to be given.
Plans to revamp the former Rasa Plus convenience store in Dereham Road, near Grapes Hill, to Dubai Shawarma kebab shop have fallen through after being submitted in September.
However with the council's decision set for Thursday the plans were suddenly withdrawn.
While the specific reason for the withdrawal are unknown the most recent documentation on the application refers to a noise impact assessment being required, due to a residential flat being above the proposed takeaway.

The applicant, Makwan Nader, initially said his proposal would “add to the mix” of takeaways and restaurants already along Dereham Road.
According to the original plans, Dubai Shawarma would have served a range of kebabs, including doner and shish, as well as rice, salads and fries.
The decision leaves the shop empty still, which is located near the Co-Op Daily, Tesco Express, Oishii Street Kitchen and Turkish restaurant Antep Kitchen.
