An upcoming historical society meeting will delve into an archaeological dig.
The Blakeney Area Historical Society (BAHS) is set to host a talk on a new Anglo-Saxon site excavation in Norfolk.
Lilly Hodges, the researcher behind the project, will present her findings on Tuesday, February 25.
The talk is among the first she will deliver following the publication of her research at the end of 2024.
Meanwhile, the BAHS January meeting will see Sarah Poppy, a committee member and senior policy advisor to Historic England, discussing recent highlights from the work of Historic England in Norfolk on Tuesday, January 28.
Historic England has contributed to the work of BAHS, particularly regarding alterations to Blakeney Church in the medieval period, as analysed by Chris Wheeler at the same meeting.
In March, John Davies will discuss Norfolk’s Deep History Coast.
The April meeting will feature Susan Maddock on The Real Margery Kempe, an early Christian mystic and pilgrim born in King’s Lynn.
The meetings take place on the last Tuesday of the month at 2.30pm in Cley Village Hall.
Cost of entry is £6 to non-members and there is a suggested donation of £3 for members.
