A museum has been given a grant of £5,000.
The Charles Burrell Museum in Thetford received the money from Thetford Town Council.
The funding is part of the council's initiative, the Unlocking Thetford's Potential Fund, which was launched earlier this year.
The fund invited Thetford-based clubs and community groups to apply for a share of £25,000.
All groups that applied took part in a presentation evening where the 209 local residents attending voted on how the fund was divided.
The museum was awarded the maximum share possible after securing enough votes.
Town councillor Terry Jermy, who is also the member of parliament for South West Norfolk, said: “The Burrell Museum is such a key part of Thetford’s heritage offer.
"I am delighted the Town Council has been able to grant this money to them which I know will make a huge difference to the museum."
Teresia Stock, manager of the museum, said: “I was delighted to welcome MP Terry Jermy and Mayor Chris Harvey to the Charles Burrell Museum on our season closing day, and to officially receive our grant by cheque for the museum café."
