The devastated wife of a teacher who went missing on his 37th birthday has said the birth of their first child triggered a decline in his mental health.
Anthony Hill, who was diagnosed with mixed anxiety and depressive disorder in 2020, went missing on June 17 before his body was found in a wooded area between Heathgate and Mousehold Avenue three days later.
His distraught wife, Kayleigh, who he married in 2016 and had two children with, said she'll "never recover" after his death.
Mr Hill's inquest was held at Norfolk Coroner's Court on Friday where a statement from Mrs Hill was read out.
In her statement it said Mr Hill "loved music and would make albums, performing them on YouTube".
She added: "The birth of our first child triggered a decline in his mental health but would hide his true feelings to other people.
"However he would tell me how he was low and wanted to die but would never take his own life, for the sake of the children.
"The last year he would tell me more about how he wanted to die and while the medication he took stabilised his mood he said he'd feel empty and a husk of himself.
"He had also recently lost interest in everything, including his music, which worried me.
"When he didn't come home on time on the 17th I think deep down I knew something awful had happened.
"I've been in pieces since but I've had to hold things together for the children who understand he's not here anymore.
"But I'll never recover from what's happened."
During the inquest the medical cause of death was given as hanging, with senior coroner Samantha Goward concluding: "Based on the CCTV and personal notes to family I am content it was a deliberate attempt to end his life.
"However there was a clear impact on his thought process by his underlying mental health condition."
