A Norwich Lanes business has closed the doors after six years of serving the city.

The Games Table boardgame café has announced its closure after its landlords took back control of the building due to issues regarding rent.

The Lower Gate Lane store opened in 2018 and offered a range of board games and table top entertainment including card games, miniature games and roleplaying games.

Owner Kieran Meenaghan said: "Sadly, we were not able to reach an amicable agreement with the landlord and so have removed what items we could within the time constraints we had.

The business has revealed that despite the closure it will remain in operation, selling its stock online and having a "big pre-Christmas sale" as it looks into opportunities for the future.

He also wanted to thank the community and its neighbouring businesses for their support.

Mr Meenaghan added: "It’s been a very difficult, and quite brutal time for all involved, and your positive messages have helped a lot."
