It may only be mid-November, but after watching the Thursford Christmas Spectacular I am feeling well and truly festive.

Back for its 47th production, it is produced and directed by Thursford Collection CEO John Cushing OBE.

It is the largest Christmas show in the country with a staggering cast of 120 singers, dancers and musicians that perform across the 130ft stage.

People travel from far and wide every year and even early on in the run on Friday night, the 1,400-seater auditorium was packed.

I have lived in Norfolk for more than a decade, but this was the first time I had seen the festive extravaganza.

The sheer scale of the production dazzled me the most and the huge group numbers 'Christmas in Killarney' and 'Thank You Very Much' were high-energy highlights.

It felt immersive with the performers using the aisles throughout and the 32-piece orchestra were superb.

The four speciality acts were impressive, ranging from acrobatics to bike stunts, and I would have liked to have seen even more.

Lloyd Hollett - The Comedy Wordsmith was back as the host and he was the glue that held the show together.

Most of the gags landed well, particularly one where he told a story incorporating sitcom names, but some took a little long to get to the punchline.

My least favourite number was 'Getting to Know You' from the musical The King and I - the musical arrangement was good but the staging with the giant character heads felt odd.

But for the most part, the Thursford Christmas Spectacular was a visual feast and it felt like I had been transported into a snowglobe.

There was something for everyone - tradition, comedy, singing, dancing, breathtaking stunts and much more.

It runs until December 23 - book tickets at thursford.com or call 01328 878477.
