Tributes have poured in from the family of a "kind and caring" man who was stabbed to death in Norwich.
The family of Abdulkadar Chadli, 48 - who was stabbed in the chest on November 1 in Mousehold Street - have issued a tribute to who they've lovingly called a "gentle guy".
“It is so very very sad that such a kind, caring and gentle guy was taken so violently from his friends and family," they said.
“I wish we could tell him how much we miss him and love him and how every day we wish we had appreciated the short time we got to spend with him.
“He used to have long spells away working at sea, now we just must try to imagine that this trip will be a little bit longer, but we will see him again one day.”
Grant Hughes, who lives nearby, described himself as Mr Chadli's best friend and said he was devastated by his loss.
"Abdul was the loveliest, kindest and caring of men. It breaks my heart," Mr Hughes said.
"Abs, as I call him, was so at peace with the world, super relaxed and gentle."
Following the incident, Mr Chadli's neighbour Elvis Vickers, 46, was arrested on suspicion of his murder and later charged.
He has since appeared at Norwich Crown Court via a video link from Norwich Prison, where he is being held on remand.
During the hearing, Vickers, also of Mousehold Street, spoke only to confirm his name and details.
Judge Alice Robinson fixed a provisional date for a trial to be held from March 31 next year, which is expected to last between two and three weeks.
