Plans to transform two derelict shops in a seaside village have been given the green light.

The disused ground floor shop space at 2 Station Road in Mundesley is set to transformed into a gallery and studio after plans were approved by North Norfolk District Council.

The application by Mr and Mrs Trampenau also proposes converting the side building of the former shops site into a one-bed annexe.

NNDC said: "The current shop front is tired in appearance, and is made up of large glazed openings, which leave the ground floor somewhat unbalanced.

"The proposed alterations introduce more vertical and horizontal glazing bars which improve the overall sense of balance and proportion, giving the elevation a more traditional character."
