More than a dozen care home residents are being moved into new accommodation after concerns over "the quality of care" they were receiving was raised.
Investigations are continuing as a council has cancelled its contract with the providers of Windsor House care home.
Lowestoft is provided and run by Saivan Care Services Limited - an Enfield-based family-run establishment that was founded in 2004.
The home on Kirkley Cliff Road inBut after "several issues" surrounding the quality of care at the home had been highlighted, Suffolk County Council (SCC) has terminated its contract with the providers.
With the independent regulator of health and social care in England - the Care Quality Commission (CQC) - continuing its investigation, they said safety concerns were raised during a recent inspection.
It is understood there were 16 people living in the home at the time of inspection.
A SCC spokesman told this newspaper: "After recent routine inspections of Windsor House Care Home in Lowestoft, several issues relating to the quality of care provided at the home were brought to our attention.
"Following discussions with CQC, whose own investigations are ongoing, Suffolk County Council has now terminated our contract with this provider.
"The council's first priority is always the health, safety and wellbeing of our residents and we are making good progress in moving them into new accommodation and expect this to be completed by the end of the week."
A CQC spokesperson said: "CQC is in the process of inspecting Windsor House and we've proposed to take further regulatory action to protect people due to concerns we found around their safety.
"We're working closely with the local authority to ensure people are being kept safe in the meantime."
Jess Asato, MP for Lowestoft, said: "I am concerned to hear about the issues of quality of care in respect of services provided at Windsor House in Kirkley Cliff Road.
"I will be following up with the CQC and Suffolk County Council to understand the action they are taking."
With Saivan Care described as a "well established provider", Windsor House is its only venue in the region, with four other facilities being provided in London.
According to its most recent CQC report published in September 2022 - and then reviewed again in July last year - Windsor House is a "residential care home providing personal care for up to 17 people in an adapted building."
The overall rating for its service was 'Good'.
