A 36-year-old accused of sexual assault in a branch of Costa has been arrested for breaking bail following reports of a man exposing himself in Norwich city centre.
Daniel Askew was found in the Chantry Place shopping centre on November 13 after police responded to reports from concerned members of the public.
Askew, of Norwich Road, appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court where he admitted a breach of court bail conditions that ban him from entering the city centre inside the inner ring road except in specific circumstances.
Colette Harper, prosecuting, said the conditions had been imposed following allegations that he had sexually touched a female customer in the London Street branch of Costa.
He has pleaded not guilty to sexual assault in relation to that and will stand trial on January 9 next year.
Lala Maya, defending, said he had breached bail in order to collect medication from inside the city centre and that no charges had been brought over claims he had exposed himself.
Magistrates broadened his bail to include pre-arranged medical appointments in the exclusion zone.
