Divisive plans to fill a disused shop with a Domino's in a seaside resort have been rejected over fears that takeaways are taking over the town.
A bid to open a Domino's in Sheringham has been thrown out by a North Norfolk District Council planning meeting over concerns of oversaturation of hot food takeaways in the area.

The application to open the pizza premises in the former Warehouse Clearance shop, at 10 Church Street in the centre of Sheringham, was met with waves of objections.
The backlash to Domino's' plans follows a growing distaste for national chains opening in Norfolk's market towns.
The meeting heard that Sheringham Town Council objected to the scheme.
It argued the proposal put the distinctiveness of the town's high street at a tipping point and the potential harm was substantial.
The town council also said it is its clear duty to try to prevent the town centre from falling into the decline which it believed this proposal countenanced.

The meeting heard objections over the character of the shop not being applicable to Sheringham's conservation area.
The committee heard the application "represents a great risk to the character of Sheringham town centre and particularly with the choice of shop front materials proposed it undermines the very nature of a conservation area".
However, there were some in support of the plans who argued that filling the shop with a Domino's would be an improvement on the current look of the derelict shop, with its bold signage.
At a development committee meeting, four councillors voted to refuse the restaurant, three voted in favour and two abstained.
Strangely, the application for shop's sign was approved.
