Final preparations are underway for a special Christmas performance in Lowestoft High Street.

The Seagull, a local community venue, has teamed up with theatre company Keepers Daughter to stage a unique version of Dickens' A Christmas Carol on November 29 and 30.

This two-person production, which has previously toured Norfolk and Suffolk, will be performed at the Mayfly, a small community space at 72 High Street, Lowestoft.

There will be three performances each day at 1pm, 4pm, and 7pm.

Tickets are priced at £5, but with only 25 available for each performance, early booking is advised.

The family-friendly version of Dickens' classic tale is told with humour and fun, as the two performers take on all the roles, helped by the occasional stuffed toy.

"At the same time, we also wanted to encourage people to visit our historic high street and especially find out more about the fantastic venue, the Mayfly.

"Combining these aims made perfect sense, and so we contacted Mark Finbow at Keepers Daughter and asked him to perform his hilarious version of A Christmas Carol.

"Nothing beats the experience of seeing actors performing live – especially at Christmas."
