A serving inmate who attempted to stab a prison officer with a small pair of scissors but cut another officer in the face has admitted unlawful wounding.
Ross Macpherson, 35, had in his hand a pair of silver scissors with which he had been attempting to stab a female prison officer at HMP Norwich.
But he ended up injuring another officer who suffered cuts, including to his face after others, including fellow inmates intervened, during the incident on December 7, 2023.
Macpherson, currently of HMP Frankland, appeared at Norwich Crown Court on Tuesday when he admitted unlawful wounding.
Judge Anthony Bate adjourned sentence until Wednesday.
