A mother and her baby were left "stranded" on the A11 after a Mercedes driving "the wrong way" crashed into them.

In a public Facebook post, the mother explained the incident happened near the Stag roundabout at Attleborough at around 6.30pm on Sunday.

She recalled how a black Mercedes Saloon pulled out of the Westcarr slip road towards Norwich.

She said they "did a U-turn across the A11" in front of her and hit her before driving "back up the slip road".

"They got out, checked their car and drove off, leaving me stranded in the outside lane of the A11 with an undrivable car with a baby inside," she continued.

She called for any witnesses to come forward and claimed the Mercedes would now have damage to its front passenger side.

A spokeswoman for Norfolk Constabulary confirmed officers were called to the Stag roundabout at 6.30pm after a fail-to-stop collision involving two vehicles.

The road was closed while the remaining car was recovered.

One lane reopened at around 7.15pm and the scene was clear by 9.20pm.
