Police, including forensic teams, were seen swarming a town centre in the search for a man.
Officers flooded the Queen's Square area of Attleborough on Saturday lunchtime where they remained into the evening.
They were acting on a call made just before 11.50am to reports of a burglary.
Later, the force's forensics teams also arrived at the scene.

After an investigation, a man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of a non-dwelling burglary.
He was also arrested on suspicion of possessing a Class A drug and theft.
He was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Station for questioning but has since been released on bail.
A spokesman for Norfolk Police said that "enquiries are continuing".
