Three Norfolk adventurers are preparing for a 3,000-mile Atlantic row.

Will Towning, Toby Renwick, and George Ryan, known as Team HODL, are planning to undertake the voyage in December 2025.

Their mission is to raise awareness and funds for Surfers Against Sewage, a charity committed to stopping the discharge of sewage into UK waterways.

Team HODL is offering two supporters the chance to win return flights to Antigua to join the landing celebrations when the team completes their journey.

Mr Ryan said: "We wanted to give something special back to the community that's supporting us.

"What better way to do that than to offer the chance to be there with us when we complete the row?

"It's going to be an unforgettable experience."

The team, based at Norwich Rowing Club, are intensifying their training, which includes pre-dawn sessions on the River Yare and weekend endurance and strength conditioning.

Mr Towning said: "This time next year, we'll be somewhere out in the Atlantic, celebrating Christmas with just each other, the sea, and a meal of dehydrated foods

"It's a surreal thought, but it makes this final year of preparation even more meaningful."

The challenge is expected to take between 40 and 70 days, with the team burning more than 5,000 calories per day rowing in two-hour shifts around the clock.

By the time they reach Antigua, each rower will have lost an average of 8kg.

The team is still seeking additional partners to help fund their challenge, which costs more than £100,000.

Mr Towning said: "Every sponsor, big or small, plays a crucial role in helping us achieve our goal.

"This isn't just about crossing an ocean. It's about creating lasting change in how we protect our waterways."
