A man was rescued after his boat suffered an electrical fire off the Norfolk coast.

Hunstanton RNLI volunteers were alerted that a 28ft pleasure craft had caught fire while travelling from Wells to King's Lynn at 5.30pm on Sunday.

They launched the Spirit of West Norfolk lifeboat to find the boat and assess the scene.

When they found it off Titchwell, there was one uninjured man on board.

The fire had been extinguished but had damaged the navigation lights and propulsion, meaning it was a danger to other vessels on the water after dark.

The crew paged the Wells RNLI team to help them tow the boat back to shore.

They arrived at 6.50pm and successfully brought the boat to anchor at Holkham Bay.

Mike Gould, acting lifeboat operations manager at Hunstanton RNLI, said it was "a well co-ordinated effort between both stations and everyone came home safe and well".
