A pub near Norwich which was shut for a year has been "completely turned around" following four years of success focusing on the community.

Ross Ivison, manager of The Dog Inn, in Holt Road, Horsford, said: "The pub has gotten busier and busier, over the past four years, putting more and more events on for the community".

The next event hosted by the inn will be the Christmas memory tree event taking place on November 29, which started two years ago.

As a result, the venue has received masses of positive feedback from its patrons for its dedication to bringing the community together.

Mr Ivison continued: "Putting more events on throughout the week like coffee mornings, quiz nights and street food days on Thursday and Friday to name a few has really helped to bring people together.

"We have something for every age range, with the memory tree being our next event.

"Last year we had around 250 people come and we hope for this year to be even busier, it is the night that starts Christmas and always brings everyone together.

"Various different groups that were not friends before or who don't normally come to the pub now spend time together".

The Christmas memory tree event promises lots of things going on for people to enjoy including a live brass band, Christmas carols in the car park and the lights turn on as well as some words from the reverend of the town.

The car park will also act as a mini Christmas fair, hosting stalls and street food to accompany the event.

They also plan to continue the growth with many more events to come, both currently running a new, with hopes to build log cabins on the premises in the near future.
