The victim of a man who has been jailed for child sex offences says they "can begin to recover" now he is behind bars. 

Terence Duck, of Eastmoor Road, Oxborough, appeared at King's Lynn Crown Court on Thursday after pleading guilty to inciting a child aged under 16 to engage in sexual activity, attempting sexual activity with a child and sexual activity with a child. 

The 71-year-old was sentenced to two years in prison and has been given a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for 10 years.

“Having him do these things to me has really affected my trust in people," it said. "I do not know how I feel or how to cope with what has happened.

"It has taken a heavy load off my mind knowing that he pleaded guilty.

"I now know what is going to happen and this provides me with some comfort that I am safe from him.

"I feel vindicated and listened to and hopefully now I can begin to recover”.

Detective constable Stuart Sansbury, the officer in charge of the case, described Duck's offending as "deplorable".

"They should not have had to suffer in this way," he said. "However, it offers some comfort knowing that the victim feels that they’ve been listened to and the sentencing offers some solace and closure.   

"They showed a lot of bravery in coming forward."
