Two restaurants on the same street in Gorleston are seeking permission to sell alcohol and play live music for longer hours.

Coral Bay and Via Vigna, both located on Baker Street, have submitted applications to vary their licences to Great Yarmouth Borough Council.

Sarah Robinson is asking for an increase in the hours she can play recorded music at the Caribbean restaurant Coral Bay from 8am to 12am every day.

Her application also wants to extend the permission for live music and the sale of alcohol from 11am to 12am daily.

Meanwhile, in a separate application, Timothy Edwards and Gene Chui, who run the wine bar Via Vigna, are hoping for an increase in hours for the sale of alcohol from 12pm to 9pm every day.

They also want to add live music between the hours of 6pm and 9pm to their licence, as well as increasing the licensable area of the premises.

Officials at the borough council will decide on the applications.
