The first shows have been announced for the Norfolk and Norwich Festival 2025.

The annual arts festival returns from Friday, May 9 to Sunday, May 25 next year and the full programme will be revealed in February.

Daniel Brine, artistic director, said: "It is always exciting to announce the first shows.

"These magnificent seven shows will give you just a little flavour of the programme across music, literature and performance.

"Following the sell-out Adnams Spiegeltent circus run last year, we are delighted to welcome UK company Upswing’s latest production Showdown.

"There are two great concerts from our residency series with Sean Shibe and Lotte Betts-Dean and, forming part of our work with schools and communities, a wonderful, charming show from Bootworks Theatre and local children - The Norwich Nine.”

Also newly announced is the Harriet Martineau Lecture with novelist Val McDermid, the Britten Sinfonia orchestra and Gandini Juggling's new show Heka, presented in partnership with Norwich Theatre.
