A village GP practice and pharmacy has been given the go-ahead for an automated prescription dispenser.
Watlington Medical Centre has been given planning permission to install the device, called a PCAD (prescription collection automated dispenser), at its premises on Rowan Close in the village, near King's Lynn.
It said the machine would help cut queues by allowing patients to collect their medication 24/7 and allow pharmacists to spend more time with those who need them.
"The benefits to the customers are reduced waiting times and allowing patients the convenience to collect medicines at their own convenience," it said.
"The PCAD is particularly useful for repeat prescriptions and busy patients who are unable to collect prescriptions during opening hours."
The dispenser can hold up to 180 bags of medicine securely. The statement added: "The installation of the PCAD will enhance an existing community asset and provide convenience for patients."
