An American-style chicken restaurant is expanding to open its second venue in Norwich.

TopG Wings launched in the centre of Mildenhall in November 2023 and people have flocked from as far as London and Cambridgeshire to sample its food.

Its founders, long-time friends Shaz Begg and Paul Stannard, never initially planned to expand but the demand was so high in Norfolk that they thought it would be a shame not to spread further afield.

With the help of Mr Begg's cousin, Muzammil Ali from Sprowston, they secured a spot in St Augustine's Gate and will welcome their first customers at midday on Thursday.

Diners will be able to choose between fresh chicken wings and strips, or chicken burgers breaded with a homemade seasoning.

A range of flavours will be available, from milder options such as sweet barbecue and garlic parmesan to the hotter buffalo or 'chicken 65'.

The bravest can sample the naga chilli sauce which contains ghost pepper, mint yoghurt and Bombay mix.

Mr Begg said the spot was "very Instagrammable" and had been designed with the help of his young teenage son.

"I think the main thing is everyone who walks into the shop will see our passion shining through," he said.

"My own designs are all over and all our food is fresh and made from our own recipes. We've put so much into it."

Norwich-based orders can be made online or in-store and delivery options are "coming soon".
