The finalists have been announced for the Eastern Daily Press Business Awards 2024, representing a variety of firms from across Norfolk that have achieved great things over the past year.
This year has the feeling of a watershed moment. We have a new government – but can it deliver growth?
The region is still feeling the sting of a cost-of-living crisis and we will have to wait to see what the effects of the autumn budget will be.
Brexit and Covid are now very much in our rear view mirrors, but the battering business took will only have made it stronger.
Our business community has always remained positive and focused on growth – and we have become bigger, better and more resilient.
The Eastern Daily Press (EDP) has had another superb year with record growth – we now have more readers that at any time in our history.
On the back of the launch of EDP+ in 2023 – an industry-leading online subscription service which delivers an unparalleled user experience – the EDP is now the biggest-selling regional newspaper in England.
Across all our channels – online, app and print – we continue to hold power to account for the good of the whole region.
And a big part of the key to long-term success is being able to sustain it. Sustainability is at the heart of what we do at the EDP. We’ve always said our success isn’t down to our app or a strong legacy print product. It’s people.
But alongside supporting our readers, we have a responsibility to protect the environment and the region in which we live.
Our Clean and Green campaign continues to champion the production of green energy, and East Anglia is now at the heart of the UK’s growing renewable energy sector.
Businesses are doing their bit too, which shines through today as we reveal the finalists of this year’s EDP Business Awards.
The theme of this year’s awards, which will be held at the Norfolk Showground on November 28, is sustainability – and we can’t wait to celebrate all your hard work at the event.
This year we are proud to be supporting Norfolk Accident Rescue Service (NARS), a charity providing life-saving volunteer clinicians for emergencies such as cardiac arrest, serious falls, road traffic collisions and seizures.
A special thanks to our headline sponsor Barclays Corporate Banking and all the category sponsors – MAD-HR, Ensors Chartered Accountants, Greater Anglia, Norse Group, Ashtons Legal and RWE – as well as our event supporters Jarrolds, John Doe of Diss, Booker and Makro. Without the support of all of these businesses, these awards couldn’t happen.
Best of luck to all of this year’s finalists. I’d like to say well done and, whether you are named a winner on the night or not, you demonstrate the best of Norfolk business.

Meet our drinks reception sponsor
Jarrolds is the drinks reception sponsor for this year’s EDP Business Awards. General manager Tom Burdett tells us more about the 200-year-old company.
“Jarrolds may be best known for its wonderful stores, but our operations extend far beyond retail to include property, facilities management, training, logistics and marketing services.
“As a group, we have never stopped evolving. We are ambitious in our vision and proactive in seeking new opportunities to grow. That’s why we proudly refer to ourselves as a ‘200-year-old startup’.
“In our stores and online, we strive to offer an ‘unrivalled experience’. We’ve carefully curated a selection of products from local artisans, producers and exclusive brands. But we’re more than a retail destination — we’re a lifestyle brand, sharing the stories behind the products and the people who create them.
“We’re proud of our place in the Norfolk business community, a vibrant, creative and supportive environment that we’re passionate about nurturing. Through our diverse B2B services, we’re committed to helping the region’s businesses thrive.”
