The finalists for the EDP Business Awards 2024 have been announced, with businesses across the county receiving recognition for their hard work and exceptional customer service.
Here, we find out more about this year's Large Business of the Year finalists, a category sponsored by Ensors.
Chantry Place
Chantry Place Shopping Centre in Norwich offers an unrivalled retail and dining experience under one roof. It is home to more than 90 fantastic shops, cafés and restaurants, including Apple, Frasers, H&M, Urban Outfitters and Zara.
The team at Chantry Place recognises that fulfilling the needs of customers today should not be at the expense of future generations. To this end, it has implemented a range of environmental, social and governance measures to become a truly sustainable business.
The judges said Chantry Place is a “pinnacle of Norwich culture” and praised the shopping centre’s “exceptional progress towards sustainability initiatives”.
They added that this work, and the business’ commitment to continually doing better, is “truly admirable”.
Fairfax & Favor
Fairfax & Favor in King’s Lynn is a clothing and footwear brand that celebrates Great British heritage.
Established in 2013, the business is now a sought-after fashion house with a multi-million-pound turnover.
Fairfax & Favor creates high-quality and fit-for-performance footwear for rural life. Its product range has expanded over the years to include boots, heels, driving shoes and more, as well as an extensive range of handbags and outerwear.
The judges praised the business for its “quintessentially British approach to high quality”. They said Fairfax & Favor is a “hugely impressive business” that creates a “raft of employment and growth opportunities”, becoming “an acclaimed brand that Norfolk can be proud of”.
Norfolk Passport
Norfolk Passport specialises in representing our county’s leading businesses.
Its free membership scheme offers access to exclusive perks and discounts from a variety of brands in six award-winning locations, including The Pigs in Edgefield, Byfords in Holt and The Assembly House in Norwich.
Norfolk Passport also highlights the best things to do in Norfolk each week with its ‘Norfolk Top 5’ email newsletter.
The judges praised the business’ “excellent and structured people progression and development plan”, which they said assured “high levels of staff retention in a competitive sector”. They said Norfolk Passport is a “fantastic business” that is “truly a jewel in Norfolk’s business crown”.
RCP Parking
RCP Parking in Norwich is a family-run UK car park operator and parking management company.
Established in 1994, RCP has grown from a small operation to provide more than 60 car park locations nationwide.
RCP is managed by Shapoor Naghshineh and his daughter, Sarah, who serves as a director. Its team of 37 staff are passionate about parking and are deeply committed to maximising the customer journey and the value of its clients’ parking assets.
The judges praised RCP for its “interesting and dynamic approach towards solving problems and assuring optimal customer satisfaction”. They commended the team for leading the charge on “sustainability, technology, equality and diversity” and said that director Sarah is an “exceptional leader”.
