A pizza delivery driver arrested in a Norwich supermarket car park has admitted being more than twice over the drink drive limit.
Peter Barta, 60, had a slice of bad luck after his erratic drunken driving was spotted by an off duty police officer.
Norwich Magistrates’ Court was told the officer had followed him into the car park at Sainsbury’s at Longwater on September 11 after seeing him driving at walking pace.
He then drove his VW Polo over a roundabout, ignoring traffic, and almost hit bollards before struggling to park.

Police called to the scene saw him blow 89mg - the legal limit is 35.
Barta, of Kestrel Avenue, Costessey, was banned from the road until September 2026 after pleading guilty to drink driving.
David Foulkes, mitigating, said: “He has been a pizza delivery driver for eight years but that employment comes to an end now and he is not well qualified to find alternative employment.
“His English language skills are poor and that may also limit his ability to do a rehabilitation course to shorten his disqualification.”
