Business owners have applied to demolish a 'Chelsea-on-Sea' bungalow to build a permanent home.
Simon and Alyson Webber are seeking permission to knock down an existing property off Station Road, in Burnham Market, and replace it with a two-storey four-bed house.
They say in a planning statement: "The proposal is to replace an existing bungalow on Angles Lane, which is of no architectural merit, is very dated and is thermally inefficient, with a new, well-designed family home.
"The proposed new house would not be a holiday home but would be used throughout the year by the applicants who own and run growing businesses in Norfolk."
It adds as the businesses - Pasta Foods, Snack Creations, and Calibration, Maintenance and Repair (CMR) - continue to grow, they need the couple to spend an increasing amount of time in Norfolk.
To date, they have been staying in hotels but now want a permanent base locally.
Burnham Market has been one of the main battlegrounds in Norfolk's revolt against second homes.
Villagers there have voted through a neighbourhood plan which stipulates any new development must be a permanent residence.
