A charity delivered more than 250 meals to attendees at a town's aid centre event.
The Rapid Relief Team (RRT) partnered with Dereham Aid Centre to provide meals at its open day event, as well as offering support to those affected by the ongoing crisis in Ukraine.
The open day event was held to provide support to those in need, as well as fostering a welcoming atmosphere for staff, volunteers, and the local community.
The event also provided an opportunity for meaningful discussions about the situation in Ukraine.
The partnership is part of RRT's wider Operation 322 initiative, aimed at delivering emergency food and personal care supplies to people displaced by the conflict in Ukraine.
Since the start of the war, RRT volunteers across the UK, Germany, France, and Sweden have packed and delivered more than 11.8 million meals to Ukrainians in need.
The RRT has also partnered with a Ukrainian-based organisation to source and distribute food boxes directly within Ukraine.
Simon McWilliams, local team leader at RRT, said: “It was a privilege to attend the Open Day at Dereham Aid Centre.
“It was our pleasure to provide the RRT’s signature burger meals to those who attended the Open Day and we encourage everyone from the Dereham community who needs any support to visit the Aid Centre – they are doing a great job helping those most vulnerable in the region and we were glad to partner with them.”
Ian Odgers, chair of the Dereham Aid Centre, added: “I want to say on behalf of Dereham Aid Centre, a massive thank you to the Rapid Relief Team for their support not only today but over the last few months in helping us support people in need.”
