A man has admitted defrauding his elderly mother out of thousands of pounds over a three-month period.
Kevin Thomas, 55, from North Walsham, dishonestly made a string of unauthorised bank withdrawals between January and April 2022.
Norwich Magistrates’ Court was told the value of the money he stole from his mother’s account totalled more than £4,000.
Appearing via video link from prison where he is serving a four-year sentence for separate offences, he pleaded guilty to theft and fraud by false representation.
The court was told he had taken advantage of the fact his mother was vulnerable due to her age and significant health issues.

The district judge said the nature and seriousness of the offences meant he should be sentenced at Norwich Crown Court.
Andrew Spence, mitigating, said he had serious alcohol problems that he had been addressing in prison and hoped to continue on his release.
He was remanded to remain in prison until his sentence which the court was told might not happen before the January 29 planned release date of his current sentence.
