There is a wide range of categories to enter at the East Anglia Clean & Green Awards 2025, focusing on everything from innovative products to grass roots community projects.

This gives organisations, community groups and individuals from all backgrounds a chance to shine, and demonstrates the multitude of ways that we can bring sustainable practices into our personal lives, businesses and cross the region as a whole.

Here, we find out more about some more of the exciting categories now open for entries and explore what the judges will be assessing during their search for the winners.

Circular and Recycling Award

For the Circular and Recycling Award category, the judges will be looking for a project or initiative that demonstrates leadership in regards to an organisation’s resource efficiency, either through circular economy practices or recycling.

Entrants should be able to showcase innovative approaches to waste reduction with clear details on how these initiatives improve their waste output and promote the reuse of materials.

They should also be able to show how they have involved consumers or industries in these initiatives, and the scalability of the idea.

Biodiversity Protection Award

Biodiversity is essential for healthy ecosystems that act as a natural defence against climate change, and the Biodiversity Protection Award looks to recognise local initiatives that are having a significant, measurable impact on protecting or enhancing it.

The judges will be looking for innovation in entrants’ conservation efforts, and community involvement and scalability will also be important considerations.

Entries should provide clear evidence how the initiative protects or enhances biodiversity, with detail on the measurable improvements made in local biodiversity as a result of these efforts.

Behaviour Change Campaign of the Year

It’s key that everybody, from large-scale businesses to individuals and their families, is invested in building a greener future. So, the judges from the Behaviour Change Campaign of the Year category will be seeking a campaign that has effectively driven positive behaviour change in relation to sustainability.

The judges want to see creative or innovative strategies for changing behaviours, with specific examples of how these strategies have effectively encouraged sustainable actions.

Evidence of audience reach and engagement should also be provided, along with details on the potential for the campaign to be adapted for wider audiences.
