Locals in Attleborough will have another place to go shopping this weekend with the launch of a new farmers’ market.

The new market, organised by Attleborough Town Council, will take place on the first Saturday of every month with the first one being held tomorrow (November 2).

It comes after the success of the Thursday market in Queen's Square which has been “going from strength to strength every week”.

The market this Saturday will also be held in Queen's Square and runs from 9am to 1pm.

“It is very exciting,” Taila Taylor, the mayor of Attleborough. “We have had a really good response to initial adverts talking about it.

"A lot of time and energy has been put into sourcing the traders without duplication, so we are not diluting what is available".

There are currently 17 stalls planned and shoppers can buy everything from fudge and gin to baked goods and chilli sauces.

Pitches are free and available to any local businesses which get in contact with the council.

"By offering free pitches at both our markets we hope to entice more traders,” Ms Taylor added.

"Attracting footfall into the town and subsequently benefiting our high street businesses supporting the local economy.”
