Runners across the region are being asked to sign up for a marathon to support children and young people.

The second Norfolk Marathon and Half Marathon will take place next year on April 13 and will include beautiful views of Cromer.

The event, organised by EPIC Norfolk, will be supporting the charity NSPCC which helps children and young people, including those who have experienced abuse and neglect.

The charity runs programmes such as Speak Out, Stay Safe in schools, to help children recognise abuse signs and identify trusted adults to approach with concerns.

Lisa Radcliffe, community fundraising manager for the East of England, said: “We are so pleased to be working alongside the Norfolk Marathon and Half Marathon.

"We hope to help the event gain momentum and welcome people to enjoy the event as they take on this challenge.

“Full support will be given to all runners who pledge to fundraise for us throughout their training and during and after the marathon.

"Every penny counts towards supporting children and young people, just £4 could answer a call to a child from a counsellor at our Childline service.”
