A man has been jailed for 20 weeks for repeated offences of anti-social behaviour in a coastal town.
Michael McQueen, of no fixed address, appeared before Norwich Magistrates Court on Monday, October 28.
The 37-year-old pleaded guilty to three separate offences in the Great Yarmouth town centre area.
These were racially aggravated public order offence; criminal damage; and behaviour with intent to cause harassment, alarm and distress under the Public Order Act.
He was sentenced to 20 weeks imprisonment and a two-year criminal behaviour order.
The conditions of this are that he must not have an open container of alcohol in a public place and he must engage with the Change Grow Live Norfolk team and their recovery workers.
Inspector Andy Tomlinson from Great Yarmouth’s Safer Neighbourhood Team said: "Our main aim is to ensure our town centre is a safe place and obtaining this Criminal Behaviour Order will help in doing that.
"The use of these orders shows we are keen to protect the communities we serve by breaking the pattern of offending by a small number of individuals. We know this will make a real difference to residents and visitors who have been affected by this anti-social behaviour."
