The dedication of nearly 670 combined years of voluntary, life-saving service was celebrated at a recent St John Ambulance awards ceremony.

The Norfolk district of the charity held the event at The Forum in Norwich.

An esteemed group of attendees included HM Lord-Lieutenant of Norfolk, The Lady Dannatt MBE; the high sheriff of Norfolk, David Flux; and the Lord Mayor of Norwich, Councillor Vivien Thomas.

Chair of Norfolk County Council, Councillor Stuart Dark, and the sheriff of Norwich, Sirajul Islam, also graced the occasion.

Volunteers received several accolades, including a prestigious coronation medal for working towards a successful and safe coronation for King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

This prize was awarded to Ian Frosdick, Millie Goodbody-Mason, Alice Gray, Sarah Hoggett, Verity Humby, Sophie Leighton, Konran Li, Courtney Morley, Harrison Neave, Oliver Needham, Thomas Willis, Calum Hardy, and Thomas Watson.

Those who had completed 10 years of efficient service were also awarded service medals, with additional bars handed out for every additional five years of volunteering.

Taken collectively, the volunteers recognised represented 669 years of dedicated service.

Service pins were also given to volunteers who had completed nine, six, or three years of service.

Certificates were also awarded to those who had completed many hours of service.

Georgina Holloway, county president and chairman of the Norfolk St John Priory Group, said: “I am incredibly proud of all our volunteers.

"Their dedication and skills shine through in everything they do for the charity.

"We are deeply grateful for their service and the positive impact they have on our community.”
