A dog-friendly café is closing its doors while the owner recovers from surgery.

Angela Girling, owner of Doggy Diner in Gorleston, has said she will be shutting up shop, with hopes to re-open in March 2025.

It is closing while she recovers from an operation in December.

This week is being treated as a relocation sale.

As well as serving food to people and their furry friends the café sells various items (Image: Gorleston Doggie Diner) The closure has come because she will not have anywhere to store anything from her café during her recovery time.

Being a well-supported community café, she has received lots of support, being offered new locations in both Gorleston and Lowestoft.

When she is finally able to open she hopes to return things back to normal, saying: "Things will be very similar to what they are now."

"Because a lot of places that say they are dog friendly aren't quite the same as when you come here.

"If the dogs put up a fuss they are often asked to leave, here it's not like that at all."
