Four pubs in Norfolk have received national attention after being named as having some of the country's best roast dinners.

Sunday lunch is a British institution and as the days get shorter and colder, many will begin to crave its comfort.

While cooking at home is an option for many, the county is spoilt for choices when it comes to cosy pubs to eat out.

The Feathers in Holt was the first to gain a mention, earning acclaim for its 28-day dry-aged Hereford beef and its roast Suffolk chicken.

For those with a sweeter tooth, the article said "the sticky toffee pudding is the stuff of dreams".

The Market Place pub underwent a huge makeover when it changed ownership in 2022 after the previous publicans retired.

The Brisley Bell was next to be named on the list, lined with cosy corners and open fires creating a great backdrop for a feast.

The dog-friendly pub is no stranger to success after recently being named in The Good Food Guide's 30 "best restaurants for your first alfresco meal of the year" and in 2023, Estrella-Damm listed it as one of the country's top 100 gastropubs.

Said to be a "three-course affair" that will put you in "gourmet heaven", the pub impressed with its locally sourced ingredients and farm-to-fork ethos.

The last Norfolk spot was The George and Dragon in Cley-next-the-Sea.

The "handsome" hotel and restaurant overlooks the nearby salt marshes with the judges particularly impressed by the selection of mains as well as the leek and raclette gratin.
