Homes and businesses in the Norfolk Broads were struck with an unexpected power cut this morning which is yet to be resolved.
The power cut initially affected more than 450 homes in the NR12 Stalham postcode area this morning.
UK Power Networks became aware of the situation shortly before 7.50am and are working to resolve the issue which is described as "a high voltage overhead electricity line fault".
In their latest update, the network operator estimated that electricity may not be restored until 6.30pm this evening.
While more than 100 properties have had their power returned, 307 are still without.
A spokesman from UK Power Networks said: "Our engineers have advised that a lot of repairs are required to fully restore the overhead network.
"We plan to restore some supplies by connecting temporary generators.
"Although these will be temporary, engineers will still need to repair the issue before they can be removed and network power is resumed.
"Depending on the fault, it may take several days for our engineers to pinpoint the problem and plan in the work.
"The temporary generators will remain on site to provide power until we can locate the issue and restore the network back to normal running conditions."
