The leader of North Norfolk District Council has expressed his sadness over the emergency felling of a tree.
The horse chestnut tree, located in Meadow Park at Cromer, is to be felled in the interest of public safety.
In a social media post, council leader Tim Adams said: "Very sadly, this prominent Horse Chestnut at The Meadow is going to have to be felled."
"It is diseased with bleeding canker and various splits are present and very visible.

"We can not leave it and it is in the interests of public safety to act now.
"Very sorry for the short notice.
"There will be replanting, but we are sadly losing something that has been present for a long time."
