A stalker has been jailed after pressurising his victim into stopping legal action.
John Cassidy, of Oak Drive, Outwell, started stalking his former partner after their break-up in May 2023.
The 69-year-old would show up at her house in Huntington, send her letters and phone members of her family.
He was arrested in November 2023 and was charged, remanded and released on bail a month later but continued to send the victim emails, letters and gifts.
He was arrested and charged again in January but gave her a Valentine's Day card and a bunch of red roses in February.

In March, he messaged her through a dating app and told her to “stop the silly legal crap”, as well as asking to meet her in person to discuss the case.
Cassidy pleaded guilty to stalking harassment and witness intimidation and appeared at Peterborough Crown Court on October 11 where he was jailed for 10 months.
DC Lauren Skinner of Cambridgeshire police said: “This was a terrifying ordeal for the victim which has had a real impact on her, so this sentence not only means justice has been done but also allows her to hopefully move on with her life.”
