A pub near Norwich has reopened under a new name following a £445,000 refurb.

The Otter in Drayton is now known as The Old Mill after a remodel by parent brewery Greene King.

Little is left of the old boozer with all new furniture and fittings - including seating lighting and a bar.

Outside the pub has undergone landscaping work to maximise the space and new furniture has been added.

The Old Mill will still have some familiar faces for The Otter locals as previous general manager Mark Wenn will be taking on the franchise with Carol Wenn who also worked at the pub.

The pair said: “We’re over the moon to become custodians of this wonderful pub and heart of the community once again – this time as franchisees.

"Thanks to the investment from Greene King, this pub is looking better than ever.

Under the Wenns, the bar will stock a selection of beers from premium lagers, to ciders, stouts and ales, as well as offering a range of food for those not opting for a liquid diet.

The hot food selection includes pub classics such as fish and chips, burgers and pies, with sharers and tapas-style plates also on offer.

Becky Holt, business development manager for Greene King Pub Partners, said: “The upgraded pub looks absolutely fantastic – and with great beer, a wide range of food and all the entertainment you could possibly need.
