Woodgreen charity shop in Norwich to close over rent issues

Woodgreen charity shop, located in Orford Place, Norwich will close because a recent rise in the rent will "diminish profitability", making the business unsustainable. 

The store has been open since late 2018 and offers a range of clothing for men and women, including shoes and bags, as well as books and board games.

"It's the way of the world now," she said.

"With everything going online the high street is becoming harder and harder to make a living on.

"We're seeing it everywhere; here and in Great Yarmouth especially."

The store is running a closing-down sale as it prepares to shut (Image: Newsquest) She added that the store manager is already searching for a new job and that she will volunteer her time at another charity shop after the closure. 

Its last day open will be November 7 and everything in-store is now half price.

Woodgreen also has shops in Thetford and Kings Lynn which raise money toward rehoming pets that have been abandoned.
