An estate in north Norfolk has applied for solar panels to be installed on the roof of a hall that is used as an event and wedding venue.
Holkham Estate submitted the plans to North Norfolk District Council and outlined how it would place the panels on the inward-facing sections of the roof at the Lady Elizabeth Wing.
If approved, the panels are estimated to generate more than 35,000 kilowatts of electricity a year and would take approximately four weeks to install.
Holkham Parish Council has already given the plans the thumbs up on the basis that they will "lessen the need for the UK to import fossil fuels".
A decision from NNDC is expected by mid-December.
