A 19-year-old footballer with a "great sense of humour" died after his motorcycle collided with a van.

Harvey Oaks was on his green Kawasaki in West Walton when it was involved in an accident with a Renault van at the junction of Wisbech Road and Church End, close to the Cambridgeshire border.

Following the crash, on July 8, he was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where he died a few hours later from a traumatic head injury.

Following his death, friends and family raised £1,725 for the East Anglian Air Ambulance and shared their tributes online. 

One read: "A leader, a great sense of humour and I loved watching him play football and the many 60/40 tackles in the favour of the opponent! RIP Harv."

Another said: "We have some great memories with you Harvey, such a great lad. We send our love to you and your family."

Another read: "Sending our love and support from all the boys that played with Harvey for Mildenhall Town FC and from the Coaches and parents. Harvey will always be remembered and missed by us all."

His full inquest has been scheduled to take place in April 2025.
