Flowers have been laid outside the UEA Sportspark after a student tragically died while using the gym equipment.

The bunches pay tribute to second-year medical student Mohammed Farraj who died at the site on Wednesday evening.

His cause of death remains unknown.

The flowers started gathering outside the gym on Thursday afternoon.

One message reads: "Our condolences for your tragic loss. No one should ever lose their child."

Another says: "Mohammed, your accomplishments were known throughout the medical school.

"You were and always willl be an inspiration to the rest of us.

"Rest in peace, my friend."

Norfolk Police and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) launched a joint investigation into Farraj's death.

On Friday morning, the police tape cordoning off the site was removed.

The Sportspark is due to reopen on October 19 but it is not currently clear whether the whole site will be accessible to the public.
