Stonegate pub Belton King's Head to open with new management

Claire Mann is the new leaseholder of the King's Head in Belton which will open its doors to the public on Friday, October 18.

She had previously worked as the manager for the business under the previous tenant publican before it closed down in July.

Now after agreeing terms with Stonegate, she is relishing the challenge to make the pub a success of her own.

"Because I worked here before it will be nice to see familiar faces back here once we are open..

"Word has got out among people in the village who have wished me well as everybody wants the pub back open and see it thriving.

"I have worked on and off in the pub industry for my whole life but this is the first time I have taken one on myself so I just can't wait to get started."

The pub has struggled for stability in recent years, the previous tenants took it on in February this year before closing in July.

"To start off it will just be me and a couple of others running the day-to-day management of the pub until we find our feet and we can go from there," she said.

"We want to create a warm and friendly atmosphere where people will want to come and hang out.

"There is a wide range of beers and lagers in bottle and on draught."
