Cops have handed out hundreds of leaflets in a bid to track down Ring doorbell footage that could solve a murder.

The flyers contain QR codes so any footage that could help piece together what happened to Kalvin Taylor can be sent directly to officers.

The body of the 19-year-old was found in a ground-floor flat in Lefroy Road, Mile Cross, on September 21 - eight days after he died of a single stab wound to the chest.

Four people have been charged in connection with the murder and officers are still digging through evidence relating to the case.

Detective Inspector Dave McCormack said: “We are continuing to investigate the circumstances around exactly what happened and would like to appeal to those living in the wider Mile Cross area directly for any further ring doorbell, CCTV or dashcam which could be relevant to our investigation during the days around the discovery of the young man’s body.”

With flowers laid near to where the stabbing occurred, people living in the area are still reeling from the incident.

Wayne Smith, who has lived in Mile Cross for 20 years, said: “The area is known for things like this but there hadn’t been anything too serious happen until the stabbing.

“It’s a shame because people have tried to make the area a nicer place to live but I know neighbours are scared about what happened.

“I just keep to myself and avoid leaving the house as much as possible.”

Ana Cruzo, who lives opposite the flats where the stabbing happened, added: “It’s a scary situation.

“Me and my neighbour talked about what had happened we couldn’t believe it.

“I have a child and she has three so you just want to make sure they stay safe, but having something so awful happen so close, is really concerning.”
