A council has set aside £1,000 for a public toilet after ladies loos suffered vandalism in the summer.

Great Yarmouth Borough Council has allocated the money to replace supplies and additional stock at the Thurne Public Toilets in The Staithe.

A parish council meeting held last month heard that the women's toilets had been vandalised in the summer - there are no details on what the vandalism was.

The parish has also contacted the borough council leader Graham Plant about reoccurring flooding issues blocking the path to the loos.

They are awaiting a response on action to prevent this.

The toilets are open 24 hours between May 31 and September - from October they are only open at the weekends and then they are closed all winter.
